Inpatient Neurology Care
The inpatient service is part of Mission Hospital's Neurosciences Center of Excellence, which includes a 14-bed Neuro-Trauma ICU and a 36-bed, dedicated Neurosciences Unit/Stroke Center. Mission is certified by The Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. It provides tPA and acute stroke interventions to more than 100 patients per year.
Part of the Mission Hospital Neuroscience Institute, our practice's inpatient neurology staff is comprised of neuro hospitalists and neurovascular hospitalists, technicians, nurse practitioners and hospital nurses. Our outpatient neurologists, who are certified in stroke and critical care neurology, are also on call to handle inpatient needs. Interventional neuroradiologists are available around-the-clock for endovascular stroke treatment, vertebroplasty and angiography. Our office collaborates closely with neurosurgeons for surgical management of neurological disease/trauma and spine surgery.
Mission Hospital has a dedicated Neurosciences Unit and a 14-bed Neuro-Trauma Intensive Care Unit staffed by professionals with advanced training in neurological disorders and stroke. A multidisciplinary rehabilitation team is trained in helping neurological patients recover as much function as possible. We offer extensive array of evaluation and testing modalities to diagnose and treat disorders, including: P.E.T. scanning, MRI/MRA and transcranial Doppler.
Outpatient Neurology Care
Outpatient services are provided in an office staffed by board-certified neurologists who see patients in need of follow-up care after hospitalization and provide neurological care to new patients, including those referred from within the community and from across western North Carolina.
Our practice has access to a wide array of technology and equipment for memory testing, nerve conduction studies, electromyographies and more.
