Occupational Medicine

OccuMed is Mission's industrial and occupational health program. It offers health screenings and medical services to businesses and industries in Asheville and Buncombe, Henderson, Haywood and Madison counties. OccuMed services are tailored to meet the need of each employer. Services include pre-placement physicals and drug screenings, vaccines, and toxic exposure exams and follow-up.

Occumed Staff & Services
Mission Staff Health includes a physician, a nurse practitioner, and physician assistants, who each have a wide variety of occupational medicine experience OccuMed services are offered to business and industry in Asheville and Buncombe, Henderson, Haywood, and Madison counties. We maintain close communication with employer representatives in order to determine fitness for duty, evaluation, management and prevention of work-related injuries, and sick visits related to acute illness. OccuMed provides appropriate follow-up and compliance with various state and federal regulations.

Preplacement physicals DOTphysicals Vaccines - Tetanus, Hepatitis Urine drug screen collection - DOT and non-DOT Audiograms Respirator Fit testing DOTQuarterly Reports Random selection of drivers/employees for drug/alcohol testing (meets DOT requirements)

Return to work exams Toxic exposure screening and follow-up TB skin testing Flexibility and Strength testing Color vision testing Smoking cessation counseling Review of DOT drug screen results by certified MRO

Spirometry X-rays Breath alcohol testing FAA Flight physicals Evaluation and treatment of Workers' Compensation injuries Bloodborne Pathogen exposure follow-up and counseling
