Orientation to Mission

Only attend General Orientation if Human Resources has told you where/when to attend.
Human Resources facilitates General Orientation for all new staff at Mission Hospital. Here you will learn about Mission Hospital, what it is like to work here, and what is expected from you as a staff member. Presentations provide opportunities to hear from some of Mission's leadership while leaning about all that Mission Hospital has to offer in your new career.

Right after you sign in for General Orientation, you will have your picture taken for your staff ID badge. Business casual dress is required, and we ask that you please adhere to our no-denim policy. In the meantime, learn more about Mission Hospital in our Employee Handbook.

Day of General Orientation:
If you need to contact the facilitator the day of Orientation, call 828-777-0655. This phone number is only available the day of orientation.

Inclement Weather:
All Mission classes and meetings follow AB-Tech's Inclement Weather Policy.

If AB Tech cancels classes by 7am, Mission General Orientation will be cancelled. HR staff will contact you regarding a make-up General Orientation and start date.
If AB-Tech has a "late-start" or cancels classes after 7am, General Orientation will start at its normal time of 8am (please arrive between 7:15-7:45 for registration).

Arrival & Location:

General Orientation is located in the Glenn Theater, which is on the second floor of the Owen Heart Center of the Memorial Campus in Asheville, NC.

Arrive between 7:15 - 7:45 and no later than 7:45am.

Directions & Parking:

Orientation attendees will need to park in the Latta Lot on the Mission Campus.

From Biltmore Avenue: Turn on Victoria and stay in the left lane. Turn left into the Mission Campus, and the parking lot will be the first entry to the left.

From McDowell Street: Turn onto Hospital Drive and make a right just past the Cancer Center building. Turn left into the Mission Campus. Entry to the lot will be on your left.

From this parking lot, it's a very short walk to the Heart Tower.
