Dr. Oscar R. Jenkins joined Asheville Cardiology Associates in 1992. He completed his premedical degree in Biology and Chemistry at Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia. He obtained a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He completed his Internship an Residency at the University of Alabama Hospitals in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed his Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Texas, Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Jenkins is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. His professional societies include fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, and the American Society of Internal Medicine. His specialties include General Cardiology, Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterization, and Echocardiography.
Dr. Jenkins is currently serving as a member of the Steering Committee of the Board of Governors of the American College of Cardiology and is the Governor of the North Carolina State Chapter.
