Dr. Abernethy is the director of the Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab at Mission Hospital. He joined Asheville Cardiology in 2001. Dr. Abernethy performed a year of cardiac research at the Mayo Clinic and also completed cardiology and interventional cardiovascular fellowships at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.
