Dr. Allen is originally from Columbia, SC. He has been with the Fullerton Genetics Center since 1997 and before that was a clinical geneticist at the Greenwood Genetic Center for six years. He evaluates patients in the hospital, office and at satellite clinics across western North Carolina. He also helps teach the medical genetics course for first-year medical students at East Tennessee State University Medical School. His areas of special interest include dysmorphology, developmental delays, autism and birth defects.

Why did you decide to specialize in your specialty? I enjoyed my genetics and embryology courses in medical school.

Personal Interests: Dr. Allen has been married for 31 years and has four children (and he still goes to soccer games!).
