Health on the job: Staying well, preventing injury, and working with your employer

Many of us spend the majority of our waking hours on the job. That's why Mission offers a variety of services to help you stay healthy, prevent injury, and promote safety at your workplace. Many local companies include these programs in their health benefits package that covers, or partially covers the cost.  Talk to your employer to learn if these services are available at your place of work.

Health Screenings at your workplace or at Mission include mammograms, bone density and Know your Numbers.

Disease management programs put you in charge of chronic conditions that can make you miss work and take the fun out of life. These include asthma, hypertension, depression, weight problems, smoking-related illness and others.

Head, neck, arm and back pain can be prevented or eased. Mission's Sport & Rehab services will work with your employer to adjust your workstation and work flow to make them as ergonomic and comfortable as possible. Also available to you are injury screenings and consultations, injury prevention classes, fitness programs and more.

OccuMed provides health services for local businesses or workplaces, offering flu shots, vaccines, pre-placement physicals, resources to help you quit tobacco and more.  Many employers in our area subscribe to these services - yours may be one of them.

Lighten Up 4 Life is the free, fun weight loss challenge that has empowered hundreds of people to lose thousands of pounds and improve their overall health. Many people participate as a member of a workplace team.

Talk to your employer about ways to ensure your health, safety and wellness, on the job and off.
