Clinical Trial Management
The Research Institute serves as the central liaison between industry sponsors and Mission Hospital research investigators and understands the increasingly complex and federally regulated area of device and pharmaceutical development. The Research Institute facilitates the process by:
Receiving study opportunities from sponsors to match with Mission Hospital researchers as well as searching out study opportunities in a researchers' area of interest:
- Completing required regulatory documents
- Negotiating budgets and contracts
- Submitting IRB applications and communicating with the IRB regarding trial developments
- Identifying valid research charges and assuring compliance with CMS, FDA, and HHS guidelines
- Coordinating study initiation, patient recruitment, and follow-up
- Providing study coordinator support to assure protocol adherence, case report form completion (data capture), and subject communication
- Ongoing quality control monitoring
- Assuring patient confidentiality and patient rights
Research Administration
In addition to Clinical Trial Management, the Research Institute provides the resources for investigators to obtain required hospital approvals including appropriate service line, legal services, business services, pharmacy, laboratory, medical staff, and other ancillary service approvals. The Research Institute also assists in obtaining required Medicare approvals (for device studies). Experienced grant administrators are available to help prepare budgets and manage sponsored research activities. The staff has a strong commitment to exceptional service and ethical standards.
Clinical Research

- Research design and sample size estimation
- Statistical analysis
- Interpretation and presentation of inferential statistics
- Identification of appropriate research instruments and database design
- Publication and presentation of research results
