Having surgery is stressful. You and your family may face uncertainty, discomfort, and logistical problems. With Mission’s outpatient surgery center, the uncertainty and logistical issues are minimal. You can be in and out and at home on the same day. This makes recovery much more comfortable, and eases the burden on your family as they don’t have to run back and forth to the hospital.
We understand that you want compassionate but efficient care while here and that you want to recover at home—knowing you have all the tools you need to do that comfortably. May people would agree and that is why Mission Hospital’s outpatient surgery center performed nearly 25,000 outpatient procedures in 2010.
Both adults and children have outpatient surgery in our 30,000 square feet center. It is equipped with advanced technology used by many different skilled surgeons. One example of this technology is the daVinci® computer-assisted robotic system. This advanced system allows the surgeon to perform surgeries through tiny, dime-sized openings using miniature instruments and a 3-D camera.
Our outpatient center includes nine operating rooms and two procedure rooms. Surgeons from these specialties use our facility:
- Ear, nose and throat (ENT)
- General Surgery
- Oral and maxillofacial
- Orthopedic
- Plastic surgery
- Ophthalmology
- Urology
Most of the procedures performed in our outpatient center are minimally invasive. This type of surgery usually means less pain, lower risk of infection and a shorter recovery time.
