Dr. Mims leads Mission Children's Hospital as it grows to meet the needs of children in western North Carolina. She is trained in pediatrics, internal medicine, and preventive medicine with a focus in public health. She has a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology with a concentration in infection and disease control.
Dr. Mims' special areas of interest include:
- Obesity prevention
- Integrated behavioral health
- Health communication
- Healthcare improvement using medical information technology
- Multi-cultural health care
- Health policy change.
