Group Welcomes New Physicians, Business Leaders

Mission Medical Associates (MMA) is pleased to announce that our team has grown recently to include four new hospitalists, an executive director of practice operations, Mission Weight Management Center practice manager and recruiting coordinator.
Asheville Hospitalist Group’s team has expanded with the arrival of Valerie Garrett, MD, Luke Richey, MD, Eric Weiner, MD, Mark Wysokinski, MD. Drs. Weiner and Wysokinski are serving at the newly established McDowell Division of the group at McDowell Hospital, with Dr. Weiner in the administrative role of regional director of hospital programs.
Jackson Norton, MHA, CMPE, has joined Mission Medical Associates as executive director of practice operations. Jackson is responsible for managing MMA’s primary care practice operations, including implementation of the patient-centered medical home model. He has more than 12 years of healthcare experience and previously served as chief administrative officer for Parkway Medical Group, an 11-provider practice with two Western North Carolina locations. After majoring in biology at Southern University, Jackson earned his master’s of business administration degree from Georgia State University, where he went on to complete his master’s degree in health administration. He is vice president of the Western North Carolina Medical Managers’ Association.
Bonnie Ann Nece, FNP, MSN, has assumed the role of practice manager for the Mission Weight Management Center, including both the surgical and non-surgical clinics. A certified bariatric nurse, Bonnie previously managed her own consulting firm, BariBasics, providing bariatric clinical consulting to more than 70 bariatric programs across the nation. She also was a site reviewer for Center of Excellence Site Inspections of the Surgical Review Corporation, the body charged with conducting clinical quality and compliance site inspections for Centers of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery. Bonnie was a bariatric nurse practitioner with Baptist Bariatric Center of Excellence in Pensacola, FL. She also previously served as the women’s health coordinator for Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola.
Mission Medical Associates welcomes Adam Tabor as recruiting coordinator. Adam earned his master’s degree in business administration from King College in Bristol, TN. He previously was a human resources representative at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. Adam joins Nancy Longcoy, director of recruiting, and Dale Mull, physician recruiter.
