Dr. Friedman specializes in caring for pediatric cardiology patients with a wide variety of conditions, including:
- Congenital heart defects and disease
- Diagnosis and treatment of lipid (cholesterol) problems in children, adolescents and young adults at risk for early heart attacks and strokes
- Systemic hypertension in children, adolescents and young adults
He has special professional interests in:
- Cardiac imaging
- Preventive cardiology
Patient Care Philosophy: "I believe that a strong doctor-patient relationship built on mutual trust and respect is of the utmost importance. This is especially true in a field such as pediatric cardiology that sometimes involves serious, life-altering diagnoses for patients and their families. For instance, in many cases, we may continue to follow an individual with congenital heart disease that was diagnosed as a fetus well into adolescence and adulthood."

Additional Medical Training: Dr. Friedman spent an extra year in fellowship training in advanced imaging, including echocardiography (fetal, three-dimensional), computed tomography and MRI. He completed some of the MRI training at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, England.
