Christopher Seiders, MD
Hospitalist
Asheville Hospitalist Group
"I really like working directly with patients and seeing them get better. When someone has to be admitted to the hospital for a problem, you have the opportunity to help the patient with that problem, take care of them as their health improves during the course of their stay and send them home feeling better."
As a hospitalist, Dr. Seiders specializes in caring for adult patients while they are hospitalized. He is trained to treat a wide variety of conditions and responsible for:
• Stabilizing patients and diagnosing their condition
• Managing patients' medications while they are hospitalized
• Ensuring the patient's continuum of care after discharge
• Explaining and communicating information about the patient's health problem and the treatment plan to the patient, the family and other doctors
Dr. Seiders has special professional interests in:
• Improving access to care for the medically underserved and those in rural areas with limited healthcare options
• Finding ways to help the underserved population transition to affordable healthcare resources after discharge, including identifying free clinics and access to medication
Patient Care Philosophy: I approach healthcare as a partnership between me, the patient, the patient's family, physician specialists and the patient's primary care doctor. Everybody plays a role. This partnership is especially important when I'm caring for an elderly patient. I try to involve the whole family in the care plan.

Perspectives on the Region: I was drawn here by both the region and the organization. I've always enjoyed visiting Asheville during my training and on vacations, and I thought it would be a great place to practice medicine as well as to play during my time off. I also was attracted by Mission's reputation and how positively patients refer to Mission and the care they have received here. I'm glad to be working at such a well-respected and exceptional hospital.
Personal Background: A native of Salt Lake City, UT, Dr. Seiders enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking and camping. He also like to cook and is looking forward to exploring Asheville's many restaurants for ideas to try in his kitchen.
