As a hospitalist at McDowell Hospital, Dr. Weiner specializes in caring for adult patients while they are hospitalized. He is trained to treat a wide variety of conditions and responsible for:
- Stabilizing patients and diagnosing their condition
- Managing patients' medications while they are hospitalized
- Ensuring the patient's continuum of care after discharge
- Explaining and communicating information about the patient's health problem and the treatment plan to the patient, the family and other doctors
In addition to his hospitalist duties, Dr. Weiner serves as the regional medical director of Hospitalist Programs for Asheville Hospitalist Group, ensuring consistency of protocols, quality and standards in the delivery of hospitalist care.
He has special professional interests in:
- Cardiopulmonary medicine
- Infectious disease
