Nursing Is...having the compassion to care for people who for whatever reason can not care for themselves. It's giving not only the patient but the family support throughout their hospital experience. It is understanding that this is a stressful time for patients, and they might not be on their best behavior, and forgiving them if they get upset without them even having to ask. Nursing is having a feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day, even if you did nothing different than any other day. The impact we have on the world is unmistakeable.
