Mission Trauma Services

Mission Health System has a state-designated Level II Trauma Center. Its goal is simple - to save lives. As members of the team of the region's only trauma center with this designation, its staff is ready around-the-clock to serve residents who have suffered major trauma.

Mission Trauma Services has two divisions - trauma surgery and critical care, and orthopedic trauma surgery. The only difference between the two divisions is that the orthopedic trauma team does not provide acute care general surgery service. Mission Trauma Services' staff includes six trauma surgeons, three orthopedic trauma surgeons, two physician assistants and five other advanced practitioners. This highly trained multidisciplinary team is prepared to deal with life- and limb-threatening injuries at the trauma center's 24-bed unit.

Clinical services include, but are not limited to, caring for patients with brain and spinal cord injuries, orthopedic injuries, extensive wounds and multiple trauma injuries.
