Medical Director - Mission Community Health & Corporate Wellness
The Medical Director is responsible for clinical services of the OccuMed Department, Mission’s occupational health and staff health services, such as the diagnosis and treatment of disease, defects or injuries, as well as, recommending and/or prescribing treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects. In addition, the Medical Director is responsible for the supervision of physician extenders ( PA’s, NP’s, CPP’s) within the Occumed program. The Medical Director will work with the Health Plan Design committee to ensure competitive customer premiums and effectiveness of healthcare services received by enrollees of the health plan through the active development and management of medical cost management programs and strategies. He/She will participate on various committees that impact the health and wellness of the employees and patients of Mission Hospital, including active participation in the development of corporate wellness initiatives. Lastly, the Medical Director will work with leadership to identify and implement best practices in the Community Health and Corporate Wellness division, and serve as a physician leader in our efforts to provide appropriate Corporate Health services to our community.
Required Education: Medical School
Preferred Education
Master's Degree in Public Health (MPH)
Required License:
Board Certified in Primary Care Specialty (i.e., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Pediatrics)
Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina
Certified Medical Review Officer (MRO)
Preferred License
Board certified/eligible in Occupational and Environmental Medicine
Required Experience
Minimum of five years of experience as a corporate medical director in Occupational Health or at least five years of experience in a variety of occupational industries (i.e. healthcare, public service, law enforcement, firefighting, industrial corporations, etc.).
