About Asheville Cardiology Associates

As one of the largest single-specialty practices in Western North Carolina, Asheville Cardiology Associates (ACA) is dedicated to providing quality, compassionate, cost-effective cardiac care.

Established in 1971, ACA serves the communities of Western North Carolina through its Asheville location and outpatient clinics in Brevard, Franklin, Hendersonville, Rutherfordton and Sylva. We also care for patients at outpatient clinics in Murphy, Highlands, Spruce Pine, Columbus and Marion. Our cardiologists also provide consultations and echocardiography interpretation services via electronic transmission so that regional physicians can receive timely and critical echo services. We use electronic medical records to coordinate and improve the care of our patients throughout our practice.

The main office at 5 Vanderbilt Park Drive in Asheville has 50 exam rooms, a laboratory and full diagnostic testing services, including three nuclear cameras, technologically advanced digital echo equipment, vascular testing equipment and a cardiac catheterization suite. Mission Hospital operates the vascular, nuclear medicine and echocardiography testing facilities and cardiac catheterization services at this location - a reflection of the close alliance between Mission Hospital and Asheville Cardiology Associates.

Echocardiography testing and nuclear medicine testing also are performed at ACA's Hendersonville office and are provided by ACA at this location.
In 2010, Asheville Cardiology Associates physicians and some of its staff joined Mission Medical Associates, the physician group practice of Mission Health System. The staff providing cardiac testing joined Mission Hospital. Working together, the physicians and staff of ACA and Mission Hospital provide quality cardiology care.

Our Clinical Cardiology Staff

At the center of any cardiovascular practice are outstanding clinicians. The ACA physician staff is comprised of 33 board-certified cardiologists, including three pediatric cardiologists. Our practice has a support staff of more than 200 skilled individuals.

Our physicians and 12 physician assistants (PAs) have trained at some of the leading medical programs in the United States, including Duke University, the University of North Carolina, Indiana University, Johns Hopkins Medical Center and Harvard University. The result is a team of dedicated physicians who provide advanced cardiac care throughout the region and continuously upgrade their skills through educational courses, symposiums and research.

Our Asheville-based physicians provide cardiology care to patients of Mission Health System. Our physicians are on the staff at the system's hospitals in all locations. Some also participate as board members of the American Society of Echocardiography and on state and national American College of Cardiology committees. Some also hold leadership roles within Mission Hospital and community hospitals across the region.
